LALCEC presente en la Carrera Celeste

El pasado domingo 9 de noviembre, estuvimos presentes en la Carrera Celeste organizada por el Dr. Diego Barreiro, el Hospital Duran y el Club de Corredores. El evento se realizó para concientizar sobre el cáncer de próstata y los chequeos preventivos.
En la carrera, de la cual participaron 1000 personas, nuestra organización contó con un stand en el cual se realizaban actividades interactivas con los corredores. Los invitamos a girar la ruleta y averiguar cuánto conocimiento tienen acerca del cáncer de próstata. También estuvimos sorteando un par de medias de nuestra campaña No te cuides a medias.
“Entre los médicos del servicio de urología del Hospital Durand nos planteamos qué podemos hacer para cambiar la realidad del cáncer de próstata ya que más del 40% de los pacientes que se diagnostican con cáncer de próstata ya tienen metástasis, o sea que hemos llegado tarde. Buscamos alguna forma de cambiar esta realidad, que es a través de los controles, con diagnóstico temprano” destacó el Dr. Barreiro sobre la causa.
Desde LALCEC celebramos que cada vez más instituciones organicen eventos masivos de concientización que inviten a sus participantes a reflexionar sobre el cuidado de la salud y los chequeos preventivos.
